This pear shaped stone is hung from the larest end down, to create a feeling of movement, and to echo the shape of a leaf. The smooth sterling bezel encloses the stone, and transitions to a carved openwork back.
The beautiful green color of this Labradorite has vertical striations that are very reminiscent of tree trunks. To enhance this idea, a grove of Apsen Trees are pierced from the silver on the reverse of the pendant, just where the striations come through. This allows the green glow to suffuse throught the trees carved on the back, echoing the shimmering green light in a grove full of sunlight.
The imagery is meant to provide a soothing, calm space where nature is the main focus.
The piece is one-of-a-kind and lovingly made. The bail, where the chain goes through, is hand twisted wire, which forms a beautifully detailed and secure loop to hang the pendant from the chain.
This is a smaller piece, note the size next to the penny.
