This pear shaped stone is hung from the larest end down, to create a feeling of movement, and to echo the shape of a leaf. The smooth sterling bezel encloses the stone, and transitions to a carved openwork back.
This stone has many crisscrossing lines in the body of the stone, and the color is variable greens from an almost teal color to brighter green. It features leafed branches pierced out on the reverse, accompanied by a single star and small crescent moon.
These are viewed from below the branches, as if one was sitting on a blanket on the ground, just watching the sky change color through the leaves. The imagery is meant to evoke memories of warm night spent out of doors, and the magic that is the Evening Sky.
The piece is one-of-a-kind and lovingly made. The bail, where the chain goes through, is hand twisted wire, which forms a beautifully detailed and secure loop to hang the pendant from the chain.
This is a smaller piece, note the size next to the penny.
Chains are sold separately, and you can go here to look at a selection.
