This handmade pendant features a larger pear shaped moonstone, hung with the point down to best show off the colors of the gem. This stone has an almost peach colored clow to the body of the stone, with blue and green flashes throughout.
The reverse side of this pendant shows a crescent moon and double star. The back of the pendant has a silver insert soldered behind the pierced design to show off the moon and stars on an oxidized background. The internal silver backing also helps to reflect the rainbow colors of the stone, since transparent stones look best with a dark color beneath them.
Rainbow Moonstone has many unique qualities. This beautifully variable gem is thought to aid in calming and soothing one's senses. It is said to protect the wearer from external negativity, creating a calm sphere around one's essence.
This gem can help enhance one's attunement to the passages of the moon, reminding us of the rhythm of time and the cycles of life.
Most moonstones show many internal features within each stone, completely unique, like a fingerprint. It is common to find markings within the stone that look like small fissures, crystals or even tiny dark spots. These are completely natural and do not affect the integrity of the gem, only enhances its ability to mirror the nuances in each of us.
This lovely piece looks great on the Square Cable Chain shown in the photos. The intricate weaving of the chain emphsizes the intricate metal work, and sets off the changing play of color in the stone even more.
