This Sterling Silver and 14K Gold ring features hand twisted wire work in alternating rows. On the sides of this design the rows of metal form a symmetrical, balanced pattern.
It starts with a beaded wire edge in silver, followed by a complex layer of silver oval wire wrapped with a double twisted gold wire. The central portion of the band is lower profile than the others, made from a deeply ridged low dome of silver which has a twist cut in to it. The pattern of wires then repeats itself to the opposite edge.
The center portion of the ring, called the head, starts with a beaded wire base topped by a wide silver twist. This has a much smaller 14K gold twist on top of that, which surrounds the 14K gold bezel, the actual setting for the stone.
All the wires are cut and twisted by hand then soldered one row at a time onto a smooth sterling silver base, which lines the inside of the ring and makes it very comfortable.
