This pendant is a story of the journey Raven takes in its mythic passage through our World. It is deeply carved on both sides, and intricately textured to make the dark and light aspects of the imagery stand out.
On one side, raven flies past a moving River bordered by leafy Trees. The Sun shines brightly down, and its rays become an echo of Raven's wing beats. The swift River symbolizes Time, as do the leafy Trees, which follow a visible seasonal pattern with their growing cycle. The Sun emphasizes strength and achievement with its powerful streams of energy.
The other side shows Raven traversing a forest at night. The Moon and Stars stand out against the dark background, yet Raven is almost hidden in the night sky. This is meant to symbolize the contemplative and mystical aspects of Raven's journey. The depth of tone emphasizes our ability to turn inward and gain insight from quieter times in our lives.
Taken together, the combination of ideas in this pendant are designed to remind you of the significant abilities you have within you to know when it is time to move forward, and when it is best to reflect and draw within.
Pendant is 1+3/16" tall x 3/4" wide x 1/8" thick, not including the bail where the chain goes through. It is shown on the 2.2 mm Sq. Cable chain.
