The natural fissures in this stone suggest a horizon line with slanted light pouring across the surface of water. The image of the Heron wading in a pool in the reverse side is based on these markings.
A setting summer sun graces the upper lefthand corner, shining down on the protected reed pond where the Heron is fishing. This locale curves all the way around the stone setting, with cattails and reeds growing along each side and curving around to the front.
A dragonfly graces one side of the stone setting, hovering above the cat tails. Dragonflies are symbols of transformation, and draw on all the elements, Earth, Air, Fire and Water for their complex life cycle. The energy of these elements can combine with the larger theme of Heron to bring you addition insight.

A word about Larimar’s colors: Every effort is made to capture the best color of the gem when the item is photographed for presentation. Due to the growth pattern of this mineral, some areas may appear whitish, or have copper or dark lava spots in the stone. This adds to the unique qualities of the gem. You can incorporate this idea along with the specific emotional symbolism built into each one-of-a-kind, handmade silver setting. Enjoy!
Please Note: Larimar is photosensitive and the brightness of its color may degrade over time if exposed to too much light or heat. Normal wear is fine, but do not leave in direct sunlight on a shelf or windowsill.
Larimar is a relatively soft gemstone which has natural growth patterns that can be fragile. Avoid dropping these stones or banging them on a hard surface, and store them separately from other pieces to prevent wear on their surfaces.
